I recently moved to Jackson, Mississippi from another state. I am about to
replace my driver's license here but find the following information from
their webpage:
If you are a non-U.S. citizen, .....You must present valid immigration
papers, including a birth certificate (translated by a state run university)
, .....
Is this true? What does "translated by a state run university" mean?
Please advise. Thanks a lot. |

"translated by a state run university" 大概是说学生可以这样办吧
不过现在严了，以前据说可以去学校开个什么证明糊弄一下，现在不行了
老老实实在国内开个出生公证书，寄过来吧
不过你是换驾照啊，也需要出生公证吗？去问问吧

I do have my "出生公证书" with me. It was notarized and translated by
Beijing Notary Public Office. Is it good enough?
Anyway, I will stop by a Driver's license center and check with them.

把以前驾照带上，还有你的lease contract和I-20（或者I-797）带上就行了

刚换驾照回来，需要以下DOCUMENTS：
BIRTH CERTIFICATE：国内做的带英文翻译的出生公证就行；
IMMIGRATION DOCUMENT:护照，I-20或I-797等；或绿卡（有绿卡就不用护照了）；
RESIDENCY EVIDENCE：一份就行；
SSN卡
原来的驾照：一定不能过期。
