地选后者，生活的地方丰富多彩比较好，下班有盼头～

that is why Harvard and MIT (and Chicago)attract the BEST professors. often
a bit more easily than PrinceT
Say, when Myron Scholes got offer from MIT, to drag him out of Chicago. he
can go, and his wife can find gainful employment right there in Boston. easy
for everyone.
But the same dude, if going to PrinceT, would often find the wifey out of
work if she is not academian, and she has to find gainful employment either
within the city or Philly.
That's why the commuting happens.
