发帖数: 463 | 8 Think about growth potential, benefit, etc. Don't just look at the dollar
amount.
Also depending on where you live, if you are single and live close to NY (
Jersey City, Hoboken), then it doesn't matter as much. If you live further
away, then commute is going to take a toll on you. Transportation will cost
hundreds per month which equal to thousands per year. ALso factor in food,
you probably won't be able to bring lunch to NY job, but in NJ, you should
be able to drive there and bring food which is another saving.
If it was me, I'd take NJ over NY, but my situation is different, I have a
family. Try to negotiate further such as vacation days, ask for 4 weeks
vacation, worse case scenario, they say no, or maybe settle in the middle
with 4, ask to have performance review in 6 months instead of 1 year so next
time the pay increase will start in 6 months not one year, etc.

一倍都可能
，就拿房子一项，你那2w的差异就cover不了。。再别提时间了
当然你是单身，无所谓，反正是租房子，住城里还省了车了

I do have a family with a school age child, and I am the only income source
for the family. NJ company is located in Edison area, and NY company is
located in Grand Central station. NY company pays a little bit better
benefit.

有时候钱不是最重要的 （如果是相差不多）
尤其是头一份工作， 主要是是否喜欢，对自己发展有没有好处

matter too much between NJ and NY(think...stat, actuarial, etc), for others
it matters quite a bit (e.g...banking, HF...)
If I were you I will take central NJ for sure. |
