大都會運輸署(MTA)政府事務主管Hilary D. Ring13日在市議會交通委員會舉行的公聽
會上表示,MTA面臨巨額的財政赤字,2011和2013年將進行的兩次幅度為7.5%的漲價是
合理的。他也承認MTA員工的福利和收入遠高於市府員工。顧雅明等市議員、乘客權益
組織(Straphangers Campaign)和交通替代方案(Transportation Alternative)等維權
組織向Ring提出了一系列開源節流的建議,Ring表示願意考慮。
MTA今年7月通過的調價計畫中,無限次的一天票和14天票都將被取消。七天票有兩種選
擇,一是無限次乘坐的29元,另一種是最多坐22次的28元。月票的兩種選擇分別為無限
次乘坐的 104元,最多坐90次的99元。獎勵(bonus)票 |

The biggest problem is the union which becomes a lot more powerful. Many of
those Union officials are connected to politicians. The elected officials
need votes, and unions control most of the votes. The candidate whoever wins
the support from unions will be elected.
On the other hand, the MTA management team members are also connected to the
elected officials....Things are more complicated...it's a system involved
many parts/interests, but not
