and middleman. Everyone works for the seller.

The only time you need to work with a middleman is if you are too lazy to
search, or into multi-million dollar market where not everything are listed,
and you need certain status/image just to show up.

commission. why not have someone at ur side?

one. He/she might appear friendlier by giving you some advice, but nothing
you can't already know by doing a quick google search.

For LZ, go to Redfin.com and do your research and then have them make
appointment to see the house. They give good coverage for Long Island.

发帖数: 4 | 11 I have used redfin before. My experience with them are mixed. In some areas,
they are very good, such as westchester. But I decided to buy in long
island. Then it's totally a different story as they are running by different
teams. For the last few weeks, they can't accommodate my request for
viewing the houses during weekend afternoon. I am not sure if they are too
busy, there are always excuses. That's why I decide to give buyer agent a
try. I already know what houses I want to see, just need the agent to set it
up. Some listing agent will only show house at certain time, which might
not work for me. But with buyer agent, the listing agent can give key or
passcode to access the house. |

that's only because your buyer's agent is so crappy. there are good ones who
can save you lots of times and troubles.

Redfin in LI really sucks. heard lots of bad exp about it...missing
appointment, wrong docs, etc...
their agent is truly door opener and for every appointment most likely you
get different agent...and you pretty much need to do everything yourself.
someone might prefer this way, but not everyone:)

- but that was sometime ago.
That Redfin team were able to do what you mentioned below. However, there
is no guarantee to get the appointment on your time slot since some houses
are still occupied.

research.
However, not sure what you meant by "you pretty much need to do everything
yourself."
Note: most of the reps on that team are just to get you in to see the house.
The few other agents will then handle the rest when you are actually ready
to make an offer.
