Modern industrialized Prussian model based "public education" started in the
1800's. The public education system was designed not to educate the
individual but to farm "human capital" to provide cheap and capable labor
for the industry, loyal cadets to the war machine, as well as docile tax-
paying sheep herds to the state.
We are all considered as "chattels". So are our kids.
We sleepwalking in a modern slavery society dreaming of liberty and freedom.

请定义什么是“自由”？
各位一定是见仁见智，对吧？ 这就是“自由”。
但如果有人说学生有回答3x4=11的自由，老师也有给3x4=11划对钩的自由，这些人代表
的只能是邪恶，欺骗和卑鄙！
请定义什么是"天真浪漫"?

偶都无法comprehand
我的理解
unschool不是指no education
其实是追求individualized education
//比共产主义还要理想的理想:)
没看完，不知道John Taylor Gatto是如何定义education的
我自己的体会
education的最高目标是帮助每个孩子培养
观察，思考和进而有创造性地解决问题的能力
说穿了，就是获得知识的基础上具有创造性 (be creative) |

只看了一部分，真的很长，Mr. Gatto 的语速也忒慢了点。读过他的“Dumbing Us
Down", 应该和这个访谈的内容观点一致，他的书也不容易读。
