A ladybug on the window sill,
an unexpected visitor on such a
cold winter day, perching still.
The warmth inside, the coldness outside.
We are given both, and in turn
we give both to others.
Winter light shines through the window.
Dusts dance in the prism of light,
like flying aphids, enticing,
but the ladybug is not fooled.
So winter turns off its lamp.
The chill dusk swallows the house.
Our guest falls into a dream
where spring wakes from hibernation. | t********a
