发帖数: 444 | 1 我对corporate strategy 很感兴趣, 突然发现goldman有一个group就叫firmwide
strategy的, 不知道做的东西和咨询公司给corporate做的东西是不是一样. 如果不同,
有哪些不同呢?
另外, 我在网上能找到的资料来看, 貌似这一支group主要是为M&A 做support的, 研究
竞争者, 做resesarch, 确定M&A的target. 不知道我的理解对不对. 另外这一支group
相当于IBD里面的其他group来说, 进去的难度有多大呢?

想象的一样. 可是网上能找到的信息非常少, 除了GS网站上泛泛的描述, 基本啥都找不
到了.
要是有人了解的, 可不可以解释下呢?

Any position or experiences during 2005-2007 has no reference value
for whatever you want to seek now. The whole economy is completely
different from those bubble years. Whatever about the group could be
totally different now. like someone said, it could be turned into
completely an IT support thing, or an regulation control office, who knows?
Especially, in large banks with tight regulations, groups with those
"fancy" names are never as fancy as before.
plus those "fancy" words were written in Linkedin profile (how much you can
trust Linkedin experience words?), by reading those words for an experience
in 2005-2007 is totally pointless.

openings
if you get interview from this group, you can ask questions at interview.
Usually first round they will give you good ideas about what they are doing.

2005－2007的时候，很多PhD毕业都不去做quant的，要么直接做trader，要么直接做
Investment banking转Private Equity，比如这个：（MIT的老同志都知道他。。。oh
对了，以前MIT Sloan还有一个Financial Technology Option，所有那个时候的工科
PhD都会顺手拿一个，找工作极其管用，因为那时候人少啊。。。现在再没这种好事了
。。）
人要顺应时代的方向，一切就很容易，反着走再聪明再努力也是枉然。

貌似这里的人也都不了解这个group. 不过还是多谢各位积极参与讨论. anyways, 我应
该不太可能拿到他家面试的. 所以还是pass好了. 不过还是想表达一下对这个group做
的工作的不同看法.
首先firmwide strategy group是在finance底下的, 而strat是在securities底下的.
基本的放狗搜索我还是会的, 只是想更多的了解他们做的工作着实不容易.
