Just feel like it? I myself cannot train by feeling or I will run very fast
at first then totally crash down later
Maybe a prior determined HR curve?

good day. How fast would you be
running without looking at your GPS? I don't believe that you will be
crashing knowing that you've still got
many miles to go.

gradually progress to around 6:50 pace and 170 heart rate. I am guessing
around 170 is baiji's marathon target heart rate.

But if I tried to run a MP (7:30min pace in my case) for 12 mile in my 18
mile long run, without knowing my pace, I will very likely too fast, say
7:15 min in my first two miles, then just slow down to 7:40 for a few
mile, then down to 7:50 or slower.
I still have to grasp the feeling for exact speed without GPS

160 BPM, then goes up to 170 BPM @ mile 22, then gradually go to as high
as possible.

that is not in my schedule that day.
I started a pace that is what I felt like, and Baiji follow, then Baiji
continued and finished with that pace, but I was dropped and run a terrible
long run |

according to my HM PR this Feb, the M pace i should train at is 6:58/mi
155-165 feels plausible.

now
it really depends on many things... now i trust my feelings more than my HRM.

reason that my long run quality is not good.
