发帖数: 1283 | 1 August 19th. It was 7'o clock when I laid down on my bed. Serendip and FFF
had already fallen asleep. We were in a hotel room in the beautiful but
lonely town of Red Cliff, 20 miles north of Leadville. Something didn't feel
right. My heart was beating so hard that I could feel my chest shaking on
the bed. I could feel the blood pumping in my neck. There was no way I could
sleep like this. Did I accidentally take caffeine? No way. The bottle of
hammer perpetuem I had earlier was caffeine free, and so was the gatorade. I
timed my pulse, and was shocked: I was laying there trying to sleep for 15
minutes, and my heart rate was over 100 beats per minute! Even when I was
resting on top of a 14er during a hike, my heart rate was much lower than
this. What the hell was happening? Did I eat some bad fried fish at the
restaurant earlier? Did I take too much salt and overloaded on electrolyte?
I had no idea. At that point, honestly, I didn't know if I could start the
race. I was preparing for the worst. After a little research on the internet
with my laptop, I decided that I probably had too much electrolyte in my
body, that combined with the altitude was making my heart pumping like it
was gonna burst out of my chest. All I could do was to drink water, kept
going to the restroom, and hoping that my heart rate would settle down. I
just laid on my bed, counting sheep, and the sheep turned into strange
shaped mountain goats. My heart rate finally went down to the point that I
could sleep, a couple hours later. When my alarm woke me at 2am, it was time
to get ready for the race. | f*******n

serendip睡比较快也和他从东部过来有关，正是睡觉的点。

after I drank a bottle of hammer perpetuem and laid down trying to sleep. I
was pretty sure that it was not psychological. On the other hand, I had
hammer perpetuem the night before a race previously and nothing happened
then. So I just don't know exactly what happened.
