Should we run 1st 6 miles faster or slower?
I finished my first half two weeks ago:
1 7:53.3 1.00 7:53
2 7:45.0 1.00 7:45
3 7:59.0 1.00 7:59
4 7:56.3 1.00 7:56
5 7:49.2 1.00 7:49
6 7:54.8 1.00 7:55
7 7:55.8 1.00 7:56
8 8:08.8 1.00 8:09
9 8:29.7 1.00 8:30
10 8:34.3 1.00 8:34
11 9:24.8 1.00 9:25
12 9:17.2 1.00 9:17
13 9:15.8 1.00 9:16
14 7:44.9 0.87 8:54
But I was slow after Mile 8. I talked to another person today, and she told
me that I need to start slow, like pace 9, then gradually faster to 8. I
will have another half in 4 weeks, and try to run under 1:50. So I have to
run faster from mile 8 to 13. Any suggestions(I am still heavy, around
180lbs)?

run first 3 miles slower, you should be able to do negative split in half by
mentally toughness
