Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
Danish-Chinese Joint Venture (wind turbine industry)
In 30 years, kk-electronic a/s has maintained its position as one of the
global market's leading and most innovative developers and manufactures of
controls, control systems, HW and SW solutions. kk-electronic a/s has its
headquarters in Denmark, but is also represented abroad, including a strong
representation in China, where there is established a joint venture (JV)
with a very large group in the region.
The main task for the JV is to serve the current key accounts - a wind
turbine manufacture - both in relation to current requirements/needs, but
also in relation to the windmill manufacturer’s future development.
The Position
The position is to be assigned as soon as possible for a contract period of
2 -3 years, with the possibility of extension. The candidate will be based
in Chongqing, China and the employment will be initiated with a short
introductory period in Denmark.
The CTO will be responsible for leading and developing the functions,
Technic and Quality with the management responsibility of 40 well-educated
Chinese employees – mainly engineers. The position will have dual reporting
channels, partly to the JV General Manager and to the client's technical
management in Denmark.
The assignments will consist of the following:
General management with a focus on structuring and establishing a well-
run organization.
Establishment of effective processes and procedures.
Ensuring competent cooperation and communication – internally in the JV
and externally in relation to both JV partners.
Establishment of a project and team culture.
Ensuring the introduction and use of relevant tools in the application
department.
Establishment of a competent and self-driven service unit, responsible
for - testing, commissioning and operation optimization.
Developing discipline and culture in relation to the handling and
sharing of data and sensitive information.
Ensuring and maintaining the organization's relevant competencies.
Developing relations with local authorities.
Qualifications
The ideal educational background will be an engineer and preferably with
managerial training.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience within relevant arrangements, e.g.
the energy sector or the wind industry (preferred).
Have experience in managing development projects in HW, SW and/or
application management.
Have relevant experience in human resource management, including staff
from other cultures.
Educational, robust, persistent, patient.
Mature and authoritarian with a good overview.
Pragmatic, operational rather than strategic,hands-on.
Open and balanced. Visible, clear and direct in communication.
Have significant experience from abroad and preferably with posting
experience.
Chinese language not a requirement but an asset • Western
nationality preferred.
