自己孩子不在这个学校，还这么热心，为了照顾到不同水平的孩子，一个星期抽自己的
空辅导两三次。

据说San Diego也是Science Olympiad也是参赛人数最多的加州county。我们每年的
Science Fair也很棒呀。
昨天美国朋友还评价说去参加Science Field Day的人太少，如果是sports event,人就
会多很多。他们说美国如果要想在科技上保持领先的话，应该更重视STEM。 |

合法的也不是个个都喜欢数学竞赛。数学竞赛厉害的，未必在现实生活和工作里解决问
题的能力就强了。我觉得数学竞赛就是个hobby, 类似于下围棋或者弹钢琴什么的。对
开发大脑有点好处，但是很花时间精力，有兴趣的钻研钻研，没兴趣的就不用跟风，千
万别因为peer pressure, 看别人家孩子参加了，就把自己家孩子也送去。
虽然说不管做什么，时间都是一样流走。大部分事情都是浪费时间，可是浪费得也有值
得不值得的区别。华人天天数学竞赛，赛到最后，电视里说杀光中国人属于言论自由，
白宫不管，FCC不管，电视台不管，而有些人从来不数学竞赛，看到一个球队老板私密
场合对小蜜说不要跟黑人一起掺合，就能搞得终身竞赛，总统，司法部长和NBA都出来
谴责，还要罚巨款。
