发帖数: 591 | 5 You're right. But historically lender won't go after you, because in order
to do that, the foreclosure process would be much longer than it was usually
done before.
Will this change in future? No one knows, especially if lender sees too
many people strategically walk away from their house, and bank is in no
hurry to repossess the house nowadays anyway.
This is my impression, since I am not too much into real estate business, I
could be wrong and welcome correction from real experts.

banks are wearing many bad hats now - greedy, irresponsible, cost taxpayer
money to save them, etc.
it's very hard to convince the jury that they are entitled to collect from
you, even you walk away strategically.

银行可以从人民政府那里轻松搞到钱，不需要采用这种吃相很难看的手段。

还是说个靠谱的答案吧，加州人民政府正在考虑一个法案取消refi变recourse，估计明
年生效：
