An E. coli outbreak in several U.S. states may be traced to cheese sold at
Costco stores, CNN reported on Friday.
The Bravo Farms Dutch Style Raw Milk Gouda Cheese was offered for sale and
in-store tasting at Costco stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, New
Mexico and Nevada between Oct. 5 and Nov. 8, according to the report.
At least 25 people were sickened in the outbreak, the report said.
Consumers with the cheese (Costco item 40654) should dispose of it in a
closed plastic bag and place it in a sealed trash can, health officials
recommended.
Costco is also offering refunds to people who return the cheese, CNN said.
E. coli may cause symptoms that include bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps and
dehydration. In extreme cases, patients can suffer kidney failure.
The Food and Drug Administration recommends that people who believe they
have E. coli symptoms should contact a health care provider.
An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the contamination. | B*1 发帖数: 1029 | |
