visa to enter UK to give a talk in a conference. How long will be the
application process? I am in the San Francisco area. Can I apply the visa
through a British Consulate in San Francisco or I have to use services such
as WorldBridge or UK border agency? What documents do I need? The UK
immigration office web site only suggests services such as above. Do I need

到他们的网站上查一下三藩属于哪个区的。
按照他们网站上的要求准备各种材料，还要网上填表缴费。
开会的话，肯定需要英国那边开个邀请信，还要提供lodging和living expense的信息
，比如订的旅馆confirmation letter和你在美国的bank statement证明你有足够经济
实力。
如果在美国的雇主可以提供你肯定会回来的证明就更好了。
英国签证很变态。一般你的材料当天上午被agent投递到使馆，他们当天就会处理。如
果有问题会给你打电话询问，这点好处是你可以argue。
如果拿到了签证，一定要买往返机票！如果是单程机票，美国这边都不让你上飞机。这
是英国的鸟规定！
