Autobiographical Statement
HAIYING SHEN
Born on Jan 4, 1977 in China, Haiying Shen has developed early on an
interests in computers, networks and distributed and parallel computer
systems. Therefore,she chose Computer Science and Engineering as her
undergraduate major. She was recommended to Tongji University without
entrance examination. In 2000, she got
her Bachelor degree and was admitted by Graduate School of Tongji University
as the only one in her class without entrance examination. In 2001, she
decided to come to the United States to enroll in the Ph.D. program offered
by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Wayne State
University. She joined the
Cluster and Internet Computing Laboratory supervised by Dr. Cheng-Zhong Xu,
where she worked on Peer-to-Peer Overlay networks.
Haiying Shen has become an active member in the professional community,
being involved in activities such as reviewing for conferences and journals
in the computer science and engineering field, participating in seminars and
conferences, and teaching
classes. She was awarded the Graduate Student Professional Travel Award from
Wayne State University in 2004.
Haiying is now looking forward to researching in Peer-to-Peer techniques as
a faculty or researcher. |
