According to a survey released Monday, 65 percent of adults and 60 percent
of likely voters support Gov. Jerry Brown's tax proposal.
Starting at a 1 percentage point increase on the tax rates for families who
make $250,000 a year, the income tax hike is a nod to labor groups who
believe voters will support a hit on the wealthy.
Families making between $300,000 and $500,000 would be taxed an additional 1
.5% for that income. And those making more than $500,000 would see an
additional 2% hike.
