Hi, Jerry.
I completely agree with you that Beckel's statements are insulting and
demonstrate his bigotry. He's done it before. It's a shame that he's still
given a venue to express his personal thoughts which by no means reflect
those of anyone but him. I detest the fact that there are still people on
this earth that are prejudiced. It's sickening and wrong. Aside from
Native American Indians, America is a nation of people from many countries
who came here for opportunity, education and/or to escape persecution.
As for tomorrow's event, I am not one of the emcees and I highly doubt that
there will be opportunities for others to speak. We do need to express our
concerns to the TV station and others that give people like Bechel an
opportunity to publicize their singular, racist, uneducated, unfounded
personal opinions.
希望有更多朋友能出现在明天2:00pm的开幕式上面。这是展示我们华裔历史的展览，是
展示华裔的付出，曾经为美国的建设做出了多少贡献的展览。现在还不能确定现场是否
有机会会有让群众表达呼声。但是，如果有更多华裔面孔出现在local社区活动中，必定
对提升我们族群的形象有正面促进作用。 | g*s
