Actually I can say nothing for this question. Although there are many many
papers in xxx.lanl.org, hep-th about AdS/CFT, I can only read a little part
of them. What I know is that all those guys who use the conjecture to some
particular questions believe it will be proved sooner or later.
There are some other guys who even don't believe SuperSymmetry. One of my
best friend who worked on CERN belongs to them.

You thouhgt you know all Chinese super string people. do you know Kong, Liang?
he is from Hustom, now in Rutgers. Are you studying Super string yourself?

Last month I took a string conference at CIT. There are more than 300 partners
in it. I know several Chinese students or postdo came from Rutgers. But I
forgot the names of them. I am sure Kong was not came there.
I said taht I know all of them is just want to who ahbu is. That's not true!
xixi.
I have study string for 2 years.

Do you study math or phys?
I just know some thing about the physical part of the story, but there are
some new mathematical results. These days, Witten give a short lecture about
the relation of the K-theory(some structure on principle bundles) and the
YM theory on non-commutive geometry. Actually, I cann't understand the lecture.

huyou, thank you for your reply.
I am studying biology in Rutgers, and I just meet Kong Lang. I want to try
studying physics, and I thought I made a mistake in choosing biology for I
really don't have much enthusiasm on it. before I came to the states, I thought
about transfering to Santa Fe someday to do unlinear physics. but Rutgers was
good at string. I am only afraind string is too hard for me. now I am 20. I
think there is still time. though it is impossible for me to go to Princeton
or CIT

There are so many things you need to study, if you want to transfer to
string theory. but i don't think it's very good for you. i am not sure
how long i will keep in this field, may be next year i will change to CS.
Although I like what I am doing now, there is no way get a good result.
The positions are so few and the work is so difficult.
It will take you more than 3 years to get the basic knowledge for string
theory. Although it's easy to know some thing about it. If you want to
do some resea

I I do think so. It will take years to study the materials such as
differential geometory, complex variables, quantum field theory
(Standard Model) etc. You need to learn some classical physics too.
I learned a lot about the geometry and physics in the courses chaos.
This topic is very difficult too. Here, there is a professor who is an indian
some kind of genius. He graduated from Syracuse, postdoc at MIT.
He now transfer to the topic of mathematical physics for some reasons.

thank you two, in fact I can find a lab where I have much free time, and
take any course I like in Rutgers. I will go to Princeton for lass after I
get my car, and I will make my decision after I tried learning it. maybe I
will take a Sub in physics.
btw, are you near New Brunswick?
