By the way, Hood is best climbed in May or early June.

我有一次在那里的时候有根绳队的竟然真fall了，还把另一个绳队的也拉倒。
现在想来竟然是我唯一一次遇到有绳队fall的climb。
而且上去可能还好，下的时候估计有绳子也够呛。

发帖数: 746 | 14 Hood最后一小段确实非常陡，而且一般比较icy，胆小的肯定会害怕。
我这四五年每年都会去爬一次，几乎每次team里都有人会害怕。
另外那个地方是不能fall的，一旦fall了比较危险，
如果team arrest不住，下面就是冒烟的crater，
所以完全没经验的还是不要带上去，不然到时候压力可能比较大。
不过你自己是不会有什么问题的，上下都没问题。
我们明年应该还会去爬，欢迎你加入。

I wouldn't say it's the easiest basic glacier. Emmons is technically much
easier, more strenuous for sure.
It's about 35 degrees towards the top, for about 300 vertical feet. It's a
no fall zone, the run out is bad. It's moderately hard for novices. I never
had to front point. I feel quite comfortable free soloing it.

发帖数: 746 | 21 上的时候都不需要front pointing，不过下来胆小的肯定要front pointing下来的。
而且不管怎么搞，能下来就谢天谢地了，要下不来你就愁吧。
我有一次爬，下来的时候team里的女生下最上面那一段，大概80ft elev drop？
用了一个半小时啊，一个半小时！她还是IM学生。
而且IM学生下来害怕的还不止她这一次。害怕这事儿，你不怕的没法想象他们怕的人
的心理，现在想想当时可能弄个rappel就好了，不过那时候我自己也不咋样，
不懂这些，就记得站在那里等得那个冷了。
今年上去的时候，顶上直接就有个T形槽，ice axe挂上绳子扔进去就是deadman，
可省事了，估计是guide搞的，以前咋没人想这点子出来呢。

发帖数: 746 | 22 冰川基本退化了，其实说hood容易主要是综合评价。
毕竟这个climb短，一般12个小时左右就能搞定，也没那么多复杂的terrain变化。
综合来说，确实容易。
不过上面还是挺陡的。要是连这点陡都没了，就不会qualify basic climb了。
比如St. Helens就不qualify basic climb，就是各方面都达不到要求。

发帖数: 746 | 24 每个season雪况不一样，但总的来说比Panaroma point陡，
而且那一段非常icy，又暴露，下山的时候天早亮了，看得害怕很正常。
另外你不能以你的看法去衡量新手的感觉，人和人不同，对陡的反应
不一样啊，就算是panaroma point也有人怕的。

我上次爬的时候，从Palmer开始滑雪都梆梆硬的。
我觉得最多扔在Triangle Moraine了，再往上也只能背下来了。

上次我早上从Palmer上头下来整个就是穿着ski滑冰啊，滑得脚疼。 |

或者就带个帐篷，drop在Palmer顶上，下来的时候先睡一觉，等雪软了再下。
