“I don’t care how ugly your stroke is—just get to the other wall as fast
as possible,” she says. “And take a big, big rest—at least as much time
as it took you to get there. Over time, it helps with the neuromuscular
programming it takes to get your arms to go fast, and you’ll find that you
have more gears.”

To work on rotation and body roll, Finis makes a useful tool called the Tech
Toc. It’s a tube with a ball in it, so if you swim flat it makes no noise,
if you rotate it makes a clicking noise for audible feedback. As a cheaper
option, use a kickboard as a pull buoy between your legs. Try to hit the
water with the top of the board on each side as you swim.
这个audible feedback的想法不错!

them together behind your back.
对于小孩没问题,特别是练蝶泳的,只要循序渐进别受伤。但是对小时候没练过的成人
,有点走火入魔了,没必要!

Or, try something more creative: Pull a 400 while wearing a baggy T-shirt
依我看,这么练其实对抗的是身体下沉,对提高水平方向的速度帮助不大。不如在发力
正确的前提下用hand paddle练pull。

Count your strokes as you swim a 25 at a normal pace. Close your eyes and
swim back.
这个完全支持!这个不但对开水,对游泳池也完全适用。我跟我辅导的小孩说,闭着眼
睛全速游25不碰到两边的线,才能尽可能多地把力量转化为水平向前的驱动,而不是去
平衡左摇右摆。

Keep your eyes sealed underwater, open them above the surface.
找到理论依据了。长游的时候,我就是水下闭眼,有时候出水换气也闭眼。

totally agree. but that must be 断章取义, this is a fix for one speed wonder
to get them faster. there must be other workouts/drills to correct the
strokes.
I actually have found myself to have more gears recently. I can now swim
easy, smooth, strong, all-out.

“every newbie should become a technique geek first.”
Fix it! You will bypass a lot of trial and error if you start with a private
lesson or coached group class.
我就浪费了三年时间trial and error :-(

» Do a swim block. Swim every day and de-emphasize your bike and run
workouts temporarily. “If you want to create a breakthrough in something,
take 10 days,” Murray says. “You’ll pop out of the other side as a
different swimmer.”

其次是熟悉常用的动作组合与心率和体力消耗的关系。
