joint Federal tax return.
When I file my state tax return, I was asked to put AGI from line 37 on
Federal tax return as base to figure out state income tax. That means LD's
salary from NO income state also pay income tax for my state. How can I
avoid that? | f*******n 发帖数: 12623 | 2 Your state will have instructions for how to handle the situation of one
person being resident of the state and the other person being nonresident of
the state. Usually, you will have to fill out a part-year resident or
nonresident tax form. In most cases, your combined income is still used to
calculate the tax rate, but only the resident's income will be taxed. | g**********r 发帖数: 372 | 3 Thanks so much for your help. if my LD also live in a state with state
income tax, we can get tax credit back to avoid double tax, but now my LD
pay no state income tax so the credit back is 0. what do you think of this?
Thanks again |
