My comment: I don't have children. For yeqars I thought American children
gave their teachers an apple at most, for there is "gold apple award" to
vote for the best teachers in a school. About a year ago, I casually asked a
black mother if she sent gift to teachers of her boy. She aid yes, but
turned evasive when I pressed what Americans gave to teachers. Obviously not

teachers and students's parents. I saw with my own eyes, many a time. I did
think they were bribing. I also form an opinion that teachers should pay tax
and that parents should pay gift tax--although the amount of gifts given to
teachers a year is not enough trigger the law of gift tax. |
