My comment:
(a) The noun "trannie" in the title is short for "transgender" or "
transsexual," both of which means the same: a person who has undergone
surgery to change sex.
(b) The author apparently adopted the maiden name of his wife Deirdre Finney.
(c) Two legal cases were mentioned in the op-ed.

A recent event shows there are many trannies.
Last Friday evening (May 8), during the rush hours the operator (named Aiden
Quinn, aged 24) of a subway train ran through a red light and rear-ended a
parked subway train in front, injuring 50 persons, including himself. At the
time, he admitted to police that he was text messaging his girlfriend,
which is a criminal offense (since then he has refused to talk). It does not
appear unusual.
