quality of the shot is just ok, because the ball is deep, you are picking up
the ball just above the ground thus it's hard to add extensive pace nor
amount of spin. So it's more of a counter shot, and likely the ball will
have a decent pace but height will be in opponent's strike zone. Key is be
able to control the direction (this is different than taking the shot on the
rise).
I find the best way is try not to get into this situation to begin with. So
one thing you can do is back up more.... I find 4.0s tend to bunker down
near baseline which they can get a way with it since opponent's shots are
not that deep. At 4.5 it's a lot more tougher, it's easier to move your
neutral zone couple steps back and work your way to the baseline (aggressive
zone).

this kind of passive hit-on-rise situation quite often.

点。否则无法同4.5的展开baseline rally。
如果对手经常的打的很深但又不出底线,那就需要我们站在baseline多1-2尺,因为这
样的对手,不是一般的4.0的了。

I have heard about this late hitting many times but did not think there is
much I can do about it,
Because I had thought it has a lot of fast footwork.
This article dissects the reasoning well. This is more about a build-in
rhyme one has got used to.
In theory (not actually tried), it has less to do with fast response or fast
speed. Sounds possible. | m****z 发帖数: 978 | 8 Wow!!! Great video. Eye Opener.
I always thought I was just out of shape, fat, and slow... Great footwork,
and backing up fast is great, but this give us another direction to work on
the issue. And some time, you get a surprise deep ball also.
1. It create more time! It turn the wasted waiting time into prepare and
swing time.
2. It actually an extreme example of the prepare early and wait the ball.
3. When I play very often, I think I do this subconsciously a little. When
I don't play much, this is totally lost. It is kind of the feel, but I
never nailed it down what it is exactly.
Prepare early...

如果实在要打,我更倾向于,eyes on the ball, less or very small back swing,
block the ball with complete follow through, control direction. |
