Jan is good, and you may have chance to see the migrate wale.
in pigeon point, they have a hot tub right by the cliff. and when you check
in, make sure reserve the earlier one (6:30pm), last one is about 10:30pm
point reyes hostel is not by the ocean, but there is a nearby trail which
you hike 2.5 miles (?) to the ocean. Otherwise, drive about 1 hours from
hostel to lighthouse , or Tomales point or Chimney Rock. the hike to the
last two are pretty good. for the sunset, head to Chimney Rock (it's a short
hike).
if you like nature/hike, point reyes is good for you.
