在美国，由于有非常充分的新闻和言论自由，新闻出版业自然就非常兴旺，相互之间竞
争也相当激烈。在有线电视方面，主要是两大电视台在打擂台，相互竞争。
在美国，什么都没有一家独大的，哪行哪业，都有竞争对手。像中国人也都熟悉，已经
到中国开设了很多家分店的麦当劳汉堡包，在美国就有很多家跟它竞争，最大的竞争对
手是“汉堡王”（Berger King），与麦当劳旗鼓相当地打擂台。再像中国人更熟悉的
美国饮料可口可乐，就有百事可乐跟它竞争，两家饮料公司更是争得难解难分。
在有线电视方面的竞争，一家是很多中国观众也都熟悉的CNN，因CNN比较注重国际报道
，进入很多国家的频道，所以在国际上比较知名。跟CNN竞争的福克斯（Fox）电视，
1996年才成立，比CNN晚了16年。但在2002年时，福克斯的收视率就超过了CNN，过去八
年，福克斯一直在收视率上领先 CNN，所以福克斯自打广告说是“收视之最”；而CNN
则自称“国际最大”。
CNN虽然在报道国际新闻上占有优势，但在这个方面，有时也被福克斯打败。像美国攻

this country. You know what we do in college? we watch the Faxnews from 8 to
9 so we can understand the jokes later on the daily show and the colbert

put a Nazi flag next to the Chinese flag, and I bet you 5 bucks there will
be a Soviet Union flag next to it. And what's up with the little blackboard
? Is he trying to be a professor or what?? This guy is a broken recorder,
which sings the same tone over and over. There is really no "unbiased" any
more. You have to be either left or right. News channels are all about
