If I’m ever in a position to move out of state, I’m headed straight for
Texas, and I ain’t looking back.
Why Texas?
Well, there’s a million reasons, but I’ll just give you one.
Apparently some citizens in the Lone Star State saw a man purse snatch an 84
-year-old woman. Big. Mistake.
From TheBlaze:
When shoppers at a Texas Walmart witnessed a man grabbing an 84-year-old
woman’s purse, they didn’t let him get away.
According to cell phone video, several shoppers in Waco chased the
suspect out of the store and scuffled with him until police could arrive. At
one moment, when the suspect started to run away, one woman fired a gun
above his head.
Three men chased the suspect and eventually tackled him and held him
until police arrived. The woman who fired the gun calmly walked away from
the suspect, got back into her truck and drove away. She is participating in
the police investigation, according to KTRK-TV.
The unidentified woman turned herself in to police after media reports
of the video showing her shooting the gun were aired. Police said Monday
afternoon that the woman was “released pending further investigation” and
that, once the investigation is done, her case will be forwarded to a grand
jury, according to KWTX-TV.
God bless Texas.
The thief has been arrested and the purse returned back to the woman.
While I’d like to believe I’m not so cynical as to think Texas is the only
place where such a positive display of humanity would occur, I’m well,
really cynical and think this probably one of the few places this would
actually happen.
Fortunately, liberalism has yet to destroy traditional values in the state
— like looking out for your fellow man and woman — therefore, there’s
still a beacon of hope shining bright in the darkness.
As long as there are good folk in the world willing to stand up and do the
right thing, evil will never triumph. |
