Until recently, this had always felt like a request that was at the same
time endearing and unreasonable.
They have a life in the US, you see. He wears a suit and tie and goes to
work at a mid-sized private company not far outside the beltway -- a place
where he has room to move upward, with a firm showing slow and steady growth
. She stays at home, for now, as a full-time mother.
The schools are fabulous; the neighborhood is safe. They were looking to buy
a house.
Now, though, the decision to stay in the US and pursue the life they’ve
started doesn’t look like the no-brainer it was when their first child was
born a few years ago. They are getting seriously worried about the wisdom of
raising a Muslim child in a country where anti-Muslim rhetoric is uttered
routinely by a major party’s presidential candidate.

Hey if they want to move back to a culture where women's rights are
oppressed and women are treated a chattel, one the has absolutely no
tolerance for any other faith, one where the governments are oppressive and
intrusive and laws such as right to a fair trial are replaced by Sharia law,
one where violence and danger are a daily part of life, one where another
Muslim is your enemy simply because you are Shia and they are Sunni...
WELL, BY ALL MEANS MOVE THE F BACK!
They're worried about living in the United States because they are peaceful,
moderate Muslims?
Well HOW ABOUT TAKING A STAND AGAINST THE RADICAL MEMBERS OF YOUR FAITH? HOW
ABOUT STARTING THE PROCESS OF REFORM OF ISLAM SO IT IS MORE TOLERANT? HOW
ABOUT SPEAKING OUT WHEN SOMEONE PREACHES HATRED IN A MOSQUE?
Really, have we become a nation of idiots. We welcome ALL. That is what
makes our nation great. However, we do not welcome those who attempt to come
to our nation and transform it into other than a free and open society
structured around Western values.
You're worried about Trump?! Try worrying more about the people who want to
hijack your religion all around the world. | g********2 发帖数: 6571 | 3 Glenn 6 hours ago
If Christians were committing atrocities in majority muslim countries the
way Muslims have here, they would be brutally exterminated. In contrast, the
response here to the atrocities done in the name of their ideology is a
slew of fawning sympathetic stories about how some muslims feel " ;
uncomfortable" about some things that are said about them.
And don't give us that baloney about how they're actually thinking about
going back to their home country and culture which they are so fond of. We
should be so lucky. They're taking part in hijrah ( colonization in support
of the spread of Islam ), and their home country is a stinking mess.
Liberals live in this fantasy world that assumes all immigrants will
assimilate universal tolerant progressive values, when the evidence suggests
otherwise.
