on the committee let him go easily. Supposedly this is the time when the
House Judiciary committee could do what they've always wanted to do: grill
him down to his last tooth. But Nadler made this bizarre request that House
staffers join the session and do the questioning. This is not only highly
unusual, if not unprecedented, but also gave Barr a perfect excuse to refuse
to appear before House. I don't understand, the staff are not elected
officials, how can they have the right to interrogate a Senate-appointed
official? Why Nadler made this request is totally beyond me. Even if he can
hold Barr in contempt, what good would that do? Has he forgotten that they
have a bigger fish to fry? |

叫嚣着巴尔误导国会。其实整个报告都公开了。误导个屁! |
t*b 发帖数: 850 | 9 No Nadler purposely did that. He does not want Barr to testify. Since the
tweet Trump disclosed his relation with Nadler in NYC regarding real estate
development Nadler backed down a lot in terms of substantial actions. Rather
Nadler just yelling to show he is doing his job as a committee chair. He
does not want Barr there because he could not control the younger New
Democrats who likely have no corruption yet. |

a******5 发帖数: 2062 | 11 The problem is can he make the request, that the staff get to question Barr
in the hearing, all by himself without conferring with anyone else? Or, was
it a group decision made by the members together, or, at least, he's got
some sort of consent from others?
I believe it's the latter, this can't be a rabbit he just pulled out of his
hat, there has to be others in on this too. That means it can't be that he
threw the game purposely to protect himself.

a******5 发帖数: 2062 | 12 As expected, Barr skipped the hearing today. And, what did the House Dems
get? Only a hollow threat of contempt echoed in the empty hallways of the
Congress. A few quick attacks on Barr puttered like a dying engine, which
won't last even one news cycle. Barr grinned as he walked away in one piece
from all this. And as for Trump, well, he just earned yet another bragging
right under his belt.
That's it. That's all they got after two years" high hopes. Stupid. |
a******5 发帖数: 2062 | 13 Or, maybe the Dems are putting their hopes on Mueller, hoping that Mueller
would stand up against Barr. But that's a 2-mile long shot, a 500-pound fat
chance. |
