category?
有没有最近去过或者周围有朋友去墨西哥转过的MM给点经验?
也欢迎大家给各方面的建议~

Who Can Apply in Mexico:
1. TCN Applicants residing in the United States, seeking to renew their visa
in any category except B1/B2 (tourist/business).
2. A spouse or dependent children may apply with the principal visa holder
if the principal meets the criteria above.
3. A renewal is a case where an application for the same type of visa is
made and does not include persons who seek to change from one visa category
to another or who are seeking any other type of "change of status" even if
that change has been authorized by the Department of Homeland Security.
4. Notice: Certain visa applicants may be subject to additional
administrative processing. This administrative processing may last weeks,
thus delaying visa delivery and the applicant's return to the United States.
Every effort will be made to expedite these procedures; however, it is not
possible to guarantee completion of this process by a particular date.
Who Cannot Apply in Mexico:
1. Applicants for B1/B2 visas, including renewals are not accepted from
third country nationals who are not resident in Mexico.
2. Applicants who entered the U.S. with a visa issued in their home country
and changed status with Department of Homeland Security in the U.S. who
seek a new visa in the new visa category.
3. Applicants who entered the United States in one visa category and are
seeking to re-enter the U.S. in a different visa category.
4. Applicants who have been out of status in the U.S. having violated the
terms of their visas or having overstayed the validity indicated on their I-
94s.
5. Applicants who entered the U.S. under the auspices of the Visa Waiver

G*********0 发帖数: 35 | 21 我最近计划到Matamoros从F2转F1, 早上给墨西哥领事馆打电话没有通,随后写了邮件
给他们,刚得到的官方回复是:F2 和F1属于同一个category。
Dear XX,
Thank you for contacting the Non-Immigrant Visas Unit at the U.S. Consulate
General Matamoros, Mexico.
Under our Third Country Nationals (TCN) policy, if you are already in
possession of a visa and are present in the United States, you may schedule
an appointment to renew your current nonimmigrant visa in the same category
in Mexico (in your case F2 to F1 is the same category F). However, we
cannot guarantee same day service. Some cases require administrative
processing and may take weeks to months to complete them. All TCN applicants
need to be prepared to travel from/depart from Mexico.
But unfortunately if you are first time applicant or you are changing your
visa category you have to apply in your country of origin.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or
concerns.
Sincerely,
Non-Immigrant Visas Unit
U.S. Consulate General
Matamoros, Mexico
