据说开始没经验的BS，只有10来块一小时.
随便找了个招聘贴，要求一堆，结果只给45K-75K？！CPA也不容易考.
A market and technology leading company headquartered in Northern Virginia
seeks highly qualified, dedicated individuals to expand its accounting
function. After a long history of steady growth and profitable operations,
this small business is experiencing rapid growth in new product sales
brought about by technology innovation and development.
We currently have a career opportunity for a Corporate Accountant/Tax
Specialist. Tax policy and strategy impact nearly every business activity
across the corporation and must be coordinated with business strategy. This
role will center around providing internal tax guidance and planning to
optimize financial performance and filing annual and quarterly tax reports
to meet federal, state, and local requirements for S-corporations.
In addition to performing rewarding and challenging work, given our small
size and potential for growth, you will have the opportunity to work
directly with senior management and executive leadership to recommend policy
and strategy initiatives; mentor and develop incoming young talent; and
work cross-functionally in a variety of roles and projects. The position has
the potential for rapid advancement into more senior management roles and
is ideal for an ambitious and inquisitive individual who possesses the
desire to expand their experience and knowledge of accounting, taxation, and
business strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Annual 1120S filing with associated K-1’s
• Annual state tax filings
• 1099 preparation and filing
• Local business license renewals
• County property tax filing(s)
• Delaware Franchise tax filing
• Quarterly UST filings – select states
• Payroll tax review and selected filings – 941 and state
requirements
• Monthly UST filing – select states
• Other tax or legal filings as required
• Ongoing tax planning
• Process documentation and improvement
• Support of other accounting projects and assignments as needed or as
available
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; advanced degree
highly desirable
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience with broad exposure to federal
income taxation, with at least 1 year directly relating to S-corp taxation
• CPA certification
• Prior public tax accounting experience highly preferred
• US Citizen for at least the past 10 years
• Existing TS or higher clearance
Skills:
• Working knowledge of tax research methods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive in seeking out opportunities for improvement during off-
peak periods
• Ability to communicate between multiple levels of management
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Curiosity, inquisitiveness and commitment to continuing education
and development
• Flexibility and adaptiveness to changing priorities, deadlines and
business conditions
• Professional and positive attitude
* Location: Dulles, VA
* Compensation: 45K to 75K depending on experience

But if you are good with numbers you should try to be a actuary, once you
pass a series of exams (will take you a couple years at least and could take
longer). You are almost guaranteed a job with starting salary in 300K, with
some experience, you can make over 1M per year easy (like chief actuary
postion in most large company) Last time I checked, there are only a little
over 20,000 actuary in US.
If you are think about a new career or a second job, the one that can
potentially make a lot of money with least amount of education is realtor, I
have known a few that can not even do high school level math very well, but
is making over 1M per year. With the average house price in DC metro area,
you don't need to sell that many per year to make at 1M dollars and it is
not that hard at all.

精算从头学，还有那么多试要考,耗不起阿。。。
做REALTOR需要时间灵活随传随到。
而且华人做REALTOR的太多了，兼职的多的更不用说。。。
俺到是非常喜欢看房子的，赫赫：P
豪宅看多了，心里会不平衡的。。。

your post
choose to be a realtor. I would say over half of the people that I know that
makes over 1M income per year is realtor (some are not that smart or well
educated)

精算 is for people good with math but want to make more money than average
accoutant.
realtor is just a easy sales position for people with little education to
have a chance to make unlimited income. Same can be said for other sales
position, but if you are well educated in other fields, realtor would be the
easy choice, you don't really need to be smart, lot of chinese buyer
actually don't need the service of a realtor, but as a buyer, realtor is
kind of free, so if you are people person and willing to make a deal and
share some of your earnings, you can have lots of business and make a lot of
money.

这种想法小年轻还能想想，成家，孩子上来了以后，工作基本上就为养家虎口。
工作的种类，性质有了很多限制，尤其是女生。
想奋斗的，要小孩就得晚点，
要不，就得LG比较能挣，自己那份只是锦上添花。

Still plenty of people move to area because of new job.
Still plenty of foreclosure to list (you don't make as much as normal
listing), but you can sell 30 listing very quickly in a few weeks, still add
up to be very good money without much work.
Don't be discouraged. May I what you are doing now (or what you were doing
before you had kids, I am assuming you have kids, right)?

以前看过一个人的文章，说是it见过所有的40退休的人，唯一特点就是无孩子。
呵呵。
其实小孩才是最大的财富，偶现在就很羡慕那些3个4个的。

生了一个以后，就发现开销好大，要考虑的事情好多。
自从开始打算要第二个，心理压力就特大，总觉得钱会不够用。担心这担心那
要不怎么想再找份工呢：（
