disable router's DHCP then.
run network wizard on xp. | m******r 发帖数: 4351 | 2 1。 If possible, i prefer not shut down DHCP, very troublesome
because I have to change back to DHCP mode everytime when I took my laptop
to shcool.
2. run Network wizard, it will ask your XP disk to insert. I don't have that :(

winxp has alternative IP setup. you can have both fixed
IP and dhcp enabled at same time. it try dhcp first, if
not available, use fixed IP.
if you resist, you can specify IP for winxp in router
DHCP configuration. otherwise it's not possible to let
the win98 share connection with winXP.
if you don't have the disk, the XP files should already
on your hard drive, check under windows dir.
