Two Masters from Beijing Longquan Monastery will visit Purdue to explore
Buddhism
佛教主张境由心造。虽然很多时候我们无法决定我们所置身的环境，但只要勇於面对现
实，懂得适时地调整自己的心境，就能改变环境。
Buddhism advocates the faith that surroundings is generated from our mind.
Most of the time, we cannot determine the surroundings we are in, but you
can change it as long as you can face the reality bravely and know how to
adjust your mind properly.
北京龙泉寺不少的僧人都毕业于中国顶尖学府，却毅然舍弃出色的职业生涯，甘于清净
的生活。这里的方丈运用着互联网和社会传媒，以多种语言传播佛教崇高、永恒的价值
观。
Many of the monks of Beijing Longquan Monastery graduated from the best
universities in China but gave up distinguished careers to devote themselves
to a pure life. There is also an abbot who uses the internet and social
media to spread the lofty and eternal values of Buddhism in a multitude of
languages.
来自龙泉寺的贤立法师和贤逊法师即将访问普渡大学, 届时将探讨佛教智慧，分享生命
故事。由于法师与同学们有着相似的教育经历，对人生也有比较深入的思考，希望这次
活动能够对大家有所帮助和启迪。
Ven. Xianli and Ven, Xianxun from Longquan will visit Purdue recently. They
will discuss the wisdom of Buddhism and share their life stories with you.
Because of their similar education background with us and their profound
thinking of life, this meetup will probably bring you more awakening and
understanding of your life.

Beijing Longquan Monastery
古代的寺院，不仅是修行的场所，也一直是传承和普及传统文化的基地。今天，在以学
诚大和尚为首的僧团的努力下，这一传统在龙泉寺开始焕发新的生机。
In ancient times, a monastery was not only a place of Buddhist practice but
also a venue for inheriting and promoting traditional culture. Today, this
educational tradition has been restored by the Sangha of Beijing Longquan
Monastery under guidance of Ven. Master Xuecheng.
凤凰岭层峦叠嶂，上有奇峰怪石、下有飞泉流瀑，自古以来一直是修行的胜地。凤凰岭
脚下的龙泉寺始建于公元951年，有千年历史的金龙桥、银杏树、古柏和国槐，还有辽
代大殿的遗址，它们静静见证者寺院的变迁。
The Phoenix Ridge, a mountain with grotesque rocks, layer upon layer of
peaks and creeks, has been a retreat for spiritual cultivation since ancient
times. Built in 951, Beijing Longquan Monastery is located at the foot of
the Phoenix Ridge. The thousand-year-old Golden Dragon Bridge, the ancient
ginkgo, cypresses and sophora japonica linn, together with the remains of
the main temple hall of the Liao Dynasty, serve as faithful witness to the
vicissitudes of the monastery.
如今，寺内的僧侣们依旧过着传统的丛林生活。同时，他们正在以新的方式传播着佛陀
的教诲，弘扬传统文化，力行慈善事业，引导人们回归心灵的净土……
Now monks in the monastery are still living a traditional monastic life.
Meanwhile, they are disseminating the Buddha’s teachings, promoting
traditional Chinese culture, committed to charitable causes, and also
guiding us to return to the pure land within ourselves in the hustle and
bustle of the word……
