Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Chicago and Tokyo were eliminated
from the race to host the 2016 Summer Games, striking a blow to
President Barack Obama, who supported the U.S. bid.
International Olympic Committee members are now voting to
pick between Madrid and Rio de Janeiro, IOC President Jacques
Rogge said in Copenhagen. The winner needs a majority from the
106 IOC members. Members with ties to a bid still in the running
can’t vote.
