XML means the thing. why people don't use those old method, and spend lot of
time and money on SAOP? because it is XML, it is simple ascii, it is
tructured, it is verified... Or it is RELATIVELY simple and open and easy to
manipulate. Those benefits are from XML, not RPC. | c***r

To be honest, I didn't find XML-RPC or SOAP much easier than UNIX RPC and Java

You can say it is a better way to organize data, to distribute data, to
manipulate data. But xml is not to replace anything specific.
And, without xml, you can also do those things you'd like to do with xml.
So it's only a way.
