Though perhaps not as attractive as spiral galaxies, elliptical galaxies
appeal to astronomers who want to learn about the history of the universe from
the aged star clusters within their bounds. Elliptical galaxies are some of
the oldest members of the universe, and astronomers had never found signs of
youth within these galactic time capsules — until now.
