I think that is a good idea to comfort your friend.
You could ask her if she is allergic to pollens.
Red color flowers will help with depressed people.Also, pink lily is good
option. this is just my thoughts.

Also, you could advise her about group support if she could find any in the
area where she lives.
group support is usually a voluntary organization in which people who have
same health or social problems will meet each other to share their
experiences, to reduce the stress, to provide solutions of solving problems.
She could search these resources online such us groups for new moms,
depression etc. so she could joint some activities and meetings.When she
meets some people who are in the same situation with her or in even worse
situation, sees how other people feel, and solve the problems, she will know
that she is not alone and find get some good advices from other people.
However, she has to chose one group which is organized by people who have
certain psychosocial knowledge and could provide advises on positive ways.
not just to vent their anger.
hope she is getting better.
