At first they offered some terrible deals, and then after 5 minutes or so,
they offered 15Mbps (without powerboost, i think it was 6Mbps) for $19.99
for 6 months or the 8Mbps (not including powerboost) for $29.99 for 12
months. I asked if there was any way he could do the 15Mbps for 12 months.
He did some "checking", and stated they could.
He stated there would be a $25 activation fee. I asked nicely if he could
waive it. It took 5 more minutes, and he came back and stated he could.
After accepting the offer, I asked if this was only for new customers, or
current customers also. He stated it was for anyone, including people who
currently have internet. I have been gone from comcast/xfinity for about a
year, so I qualified as a new customer, so I can't confirm it would have
worked like he said.
So, this is definitely YMMV, but hopefully it will work for you.
