I can hardly agree with your judgement on his performance of Schubert.
In my oppinion, what dominates the mood of that sonata, the D.845 in am,
is not such a pianism could be achieved via the decisive strength or
touching clarity. To be sure, it's a work build upon the contrasts a
classical sonata form could afford and to some extent, th | e***e

This is a very good analysis of the performance. However, I have to say, we
may be talking about two different subject here.
my original opinion on his "strength" and "decisiveness" is purely technical.-
One does need a fair amount of physical strength to deliever the emotional
