发帖数: 5245 | 11 这样的事情，要看法律是怎么规定的，而不是看邻居愿意不愿意。前提是你邻居是
LANDLORD。
如果法律规定他的树影响了你的物产的安全，他就需要TAKE CARE OF IT。如果你很客
气跟他沟通了，他拒绝，你可以采取法律手段。
如果你不越界，除掉其大根，可能在法律上没问题。但你可能导致大树不稳。风一刮，
造成你或他或他人的生命财产损失，那很可能就是你的责任了。
查查你们州或城市的相关法规。

It defines rights and obligations for both you and your neighbors.
You can find it in city library or city hall. Amazon has book with same
title. I think every home owner should study this law.
In my state, for examples:
- you can cut others' tree branches/roots right at your property line. But
if that tree is dead due to injures caused by you, your neighbor can sue you.
- If your neighbor's tree falls onto your house due to storm, you need to
use your own home insurance, because it's caused by mothers of nature -
nobody's fault.

That is why need to keep your eyes open when you buy a property. Because it
comes with liabilities.
As to who is responsible, it totally depends on how it happened.
For example, if it falls because of storm, it is an act of god. Your
neighbor is not responsible. However, if falls because of lack of care (such
as rotting, bad shape etc) that you can proof, your neighbor is responsible
. If there is a dispute, go to the law.
