i attempt to add another 2h from time to time, but all the attempts were
failed. just didnt get many chances to use 2h.
since my 3woods is for 220 yards, and 3h is 190. for the distance between
clubs, say, 2h, i still hesitate to use it. for 200yards, i can either hit
80% 3wood or full speed for 3h.
since i inter-change 5wood with my 60 degree wedge depends on the course i
play, i was planning to get a 2 h to replace my |

down. drive block to right, land on hard & dead grass patch right side, over
300. 250-260left. water on front left side of green.
i tried to hit 3woods 4 times, just could not hit solid even once, all very
low hook. almost turf roll. I was able to hit some good 3wood at range. don'
t know why i could not do it on course. fixing hook is as hard as fixing
slice. |

in my bag now:
先说包, 现在用的是Sun Mountain 2010 Four 5, 开始试了nike 的 m9 cart bag，但是
觉得自己还是喜欢走场，所以就想要个轻点的stand bag。不太喜欢bag chatter，就找
了14
divider的。最后选中了这款。
Driver 用的是 Cobra Offset SS350 11* with Rip 60S shaft。 这个driver head是
我的第一支driver上面的。试过tm supeedeep 和 supertri，最后决定还是用小号的
driver
head， 于是自己找了跟shaft 安上了。
Wood/hybrid 开始包里面一直有跟titleist 909f2 3wood， 后面又换了根 ping g15

这个想法往往导致 tempo 变快， 动作变形。
但是想到只要从3wood得到190 吗, 心情会轻松很多。fundamental 也容易做的到位一些
我driver有时候越练越烂， 就是因为希望远距离导致了不好的心里暗示。。。过于强
调某一点， 影响了其他fundamental 的要点。
有的时候，场上我是用它作为一种练习，190码，200码，应用混杆，我用了3W，反而会
打得好，虽然经常会打 过头。还有在开球后还有260码以上的距离，很多人会用两根铁
杆，我一般会用3W，一

有用来 一搏 2on par5. 现在 driver 不稳， 根本不指望这个了。
庆幸把 r9 460 摔断了，要不然我还强迫自己用。毕竟花了 300 刀， TM 有是 driver 的
老大。
cobra F speed 10.5 好打多了（才40刀）。 虽然是 regular flex. 在range 上 球停
在边缘树附近估计有 280 马， 气温低了， 60F, range ball.那 launch monitor 上
302 还是有可能。当时在店里用新的callway razr hawk alpha rip stiff 开 达到过
299, 当看到这个cobra 3开头的时候我立马买了。
一度把hook 控制住的时候， 最后5 球 4 球 都有 240-250 以上的carry. driver 很
长一段时间没有打得这么爽了。
最主要的是我觉得用driver 打个220-240 轻松多了， 这在场上大多时候可以用来保底
了。开球压力也小。

今天第一次参加club的年度4club games，每人只允许带4根球杆下场。根据球场的
yardage，我带了driver，6IRON， SW和putter。打的结果比平常背14只杆子还好两杆
，低于我的球场handicap。所以有些打不好的杆子带着其实是诱惑陷阱，对我来说球道
木现在就是这样，想在第二杆追别人或par5强攻果岭，其实带来的麻烦更多。这次没带
球道木，啥也别想了，够不着就认了，反而结果还可以接受。
Club里几个老油条，根本不带driver， 只带3wood，5杆洞都是连打两杆3wood强攻果岭
。希望明年我也能这样组合。

发帖数: 2325 | 8 我的3wood快练成了。 最近几次 range session 都比较直，距离也比较满意， 没有
mishit 或offline too much。 木杆的confidence 靠积累高百分比的好球。尽量每次
都一样的routine 和swing thought 和 feeling。
johnny miller GCA practice swing brush grass 用在3wood 上效果好， 帮助明确
swing arc low point, get feel for the ground. 另外一个容易陷入的误区是 想远
距离下意识导致动作变形。
driver 有时候太强调downswing arm connected to chest, 又开始打出fade/slice.
iron 仍然solid, 190 - 200的approach 都觉得比较轻松。
当然range 上比场上容易一些，都是level ground。 场上的难点多一些， 有时候赶时
间， 或碰到slow play 影响性情， 没约人或没入组 一个人打 2-4 小时觉得没劲。

不光是用3wood出不了bunker, 就是SW 也不好。我今年没有一个像样的bunker shot.
最近两次三百零几的par4 开球进入front green side bunker, 一次double, 一次
bogey.
今天我输score core, 一个33.3/107 的course front 9 par 34, very few bunkers
and no sand shot , +9 with average 2.1 putts, 可能我9洞最好分数. 没完成18洞
， hole 10-14 不知道是开始随意了，还是swing 稳定性的持续时间还不够长，用4铁
以上开球，结果仍然差， +3， +4。3wood 也是只有50%solid. par5 只剩下230了,结
果地滚. 2nd ball for practice 倒是solid 却打中树枝.

今天9洞， 第一洞没热身就254yard, 第三洞又平以前开的最远， 第五洞号称561yard
par5, 首次driver + 3wood 到right green side rough. 有4个ob, 得分估计不是太好
， 但是还很是开心。今天3wood用了3次， 结果都不错。其他5i to left green side
rought 205y par3, 4i + 52degree GIR 339 yard par4.
打的远的洞 我都没有hit longer 的心态， 倒是298 par4, 214 par3 打远心态明显时

一般对于比较难的场地,相对短的洞一般也比较窄,hazard多,给driver的landing area
也小.用driver得到的距离一般远远不能抵消其带来的风险.可以想象一下用driver打上
一个280yard外的green试试?
我一般对于短洞选择3wood, 3hybrid, 4hybrid或5铁等开球,往往得分要好一些.
一般440yard以上的长洞会比较开阔,我以前反而在这种洞的得分好.而短洞得分差.但改
为打fairway比较宽阔的距离后,准确度和得分好很多.而且对我来说,110到130距离的准
确度会高于50到70yard. 当然20到30yard的切球又好于110yard以上的功岭.
比如Tiger等Pro经常用3wood或2,3铁开球,一定是有course management的考量的.对于
long hitter来说,距离不是问题,准确度和risk & reward才是问题.当然我一般也就
play 6,500到7,000以内的场地,太长的场地也没打过. |

假如只选一根，7号（6号8号次之）
2根：上述铁杆加推杆。
3根：3wood，7i，Putter
4根：3wood，7i，SW（沙杆，Sand Wedge)，Putter
5根以上到带全规则允许的13根杆子，组合无数。
基本第一次上场一根最顺手的铁杆加推杆即可，甚至可以不要推杆。多带球，因为肯定
得丢上好几个。
你可以看看Amazon上的Kids Starting Golf Set作参考，从3根杆起步到5根、7根、9根
，那配置基本就是初学者的常见用杆轨迹。至于上场，只规定了最多带几根杆，无下限

去golfsmith买的，全都是callaway的，有driver（big bertha 454),3wood,5wood,iron
set x－18(4,5,6,7,8,9,pw,sw),putter,bag,travel
bag，towel，sunglass（不是callaway的），一共$1947。真的是好大好大一个包，怎么
能拿上飞机啊，哎。
另外，还得请教各位，这一套杆怎么带上飞机呢，肯定是得托运吧，在航空公司允许托运
的范围内么（应该在吧，要不那些打比赛的人怎么带的呢？），还有我用不用把所有杆的
塑料袋都拆了，再在草地上蹭一蹭，显得好像用过的样子，要不入关是不是要缴税？？

发帖数: 10701 | 22 这是在第11洞的果岭上，456码par4, dogleg left, 拐角在240码左右；总是对抗风。
tee box前左边还是树枝，使得想让球draw出240码处的拐角非常不容易，大部分的时候
，即使意念上想draw这个tee shot， 但总是把球平直送到球道处，这会要么留下一个
至少220码的approach shot， 要么球击得太长到外拐角处沙坑中。
我只曾一次成功的draw过那个拐角，留下一个近160码的approach shot 距离，不幸的
是，因为地上的错误的距离表示让我误认为还有205码，一个漂亮的5 iron讲就直接送
出果岭。
还有一次，因为球套上3 woods和5 woods误用，本打算用5 woods，错用3woods后将球
送到旗杆3个feet处得到一个birdie..
我排该球洞为本球场最难的一个。 |

for these long courses, the feature is that a lot of 420 or so par 4, and a
number of 200 or so par3.
if drive just 220, then 200 apporach, that's not confortable distance (never
hit green from 200 yard)
245 + 175 (borrow some roll on green, just 170, so it's more comfortable for
a mid iron shot)
if drive 245, 3wood 230 or so, then 70-80 left for 550 par5, or 20-30 yard
for 510 par 5. that's getting comfortable picture. |

is better. less than 110, stiff is better. more than 110, x-stiff could be
more reasonable.
another is the shaft weight, from 45g to 105g, as i 've seen. lighter,

for me, it is very hard to keep the consistence for 3 wood, even worse than
my driver, while normally driver would have a tee. i guess only use fairway
woods on fairway then.
between 7iron+7iron and 3wood+pitching, i always tend to use later
combination, but price is heavy.
how you make choice between long iron and fairway woods, given now you are
starting to master fairway woods?

City Championship.
The course is measured at 6600+ yards from tips. Today's setup is like 6000
at most. I hit only 2-3 times driver. My 3woods just found the fairways most
of the time.
I d-b #4 after I hit good tee shot & good approach shot. The club selection
could be wrong which left me 5 yards short. i got screwed from the freaking
5 yards.
I bogeyed the last 2 holes since it's getting complete dark already. So..

at least not good enough to convinance more ppl join the crowd.
Now, with anotheny kim's success, i would think more ppl would leave their
3wood out instead of driver.
for me, better keep both of them.
also, for amature, do you guys stick with the 14-clubs rule? sometimes, i
would think we should limit our fun to play, and carry as much as club as we
can afford. |

18 hole, use 4i once, 5i 2 times, 7i once
and 4i i can use hybrid to replace, 5i was used to get out of pine needle.
my typical setup:

I ordered a used taylormade cgb faiway 3woods from them, (weeks before the
taylormade 67% off deal, which i regret most :) )
after the club arrived, i took out of box, swung once, only ONCE, the club
shaft is broken.
I call their customer support. their attitude and service is very bad.
basically they said it is not their fault, and asked me ship the club to
them, and they will send to taylormade, if taylor |

本来湾区这个季节是冷和下雨的天气，结果天放晴，球场几乎一点风都没有
很多人都穿T-SHIRT在打
自己打得也有一些HIGHLIGHT，但总是不该出错的时候出错
有一469的PAR5本来借下坡，两杆到GREENSIDE，结果CHIPPING的时候LEADING EDGE打
到球，从这边GREEN EDGE 打到那边的EDGE
还有一279DOG LEG LEFT PAR4，同伴对场地熟悉告诉CUT CORNER
一杆到GREEN边，心里那个喜
结果心想CHIPPING不成，咱该PUTTING，一PUTT太轻，二PUTT太重，三PUTT没进
本来以为DRIVER好一些, 有两PAR5 DRIVER楞没打上
FAIRWAY上SHANK了一5IRON，有时3WOOD也没打上
看来DRIVER要练，IRON要练，WOODS要练，GREENSIDE SHORT GAME 要练，PUTT要练

club good with ease. but i seems that driver and 3woods won't benefit much from hitting
3i well.
here is the swing video of that shot. first shot(170-180y), i am on left toe(leads to fat and slice). second shot (206-208yards) left foot is solid on turf, relative well done for weight transfer to left foot. weight transfer to solid left foot is the focus of my recent practice.

went driving range 5:30p after work. started with hitting driver first with
first 10-20 shots. only 1 mishit and limited number of severe slice. then
hit 3-woods on mattress, good. then start hit from the uncut shallow grass
ahead of the mattress, bad shots (fat and short, slice, turf roll) started
to come for both woods and long iron.
land 3iron shot to 200yard flag again a couple of times. feel that have to
commit to each shot, oth |

11* 2wood 320g --- hit this one longer than Driver by maybe 20 yards.
3iron 419g ---almost one pound
googled, "standard weight of golf clubs", didn't find any results. anybody

that par-6 673 blue tee, most of part are downhill, driver + 3wood get me
almost 600 to the bottom of the valley, then i need get the ball back up the
high elevated green. a guy in the same group was asking me what i plan to
use, i told him Pitch wedge, and his ball was not far from me, and he hit
with P, way short of green. so i switch to 9iron, still short, and land on
the edge of first cut. one chip, plus 2 putts. it is very h |

that's all.
any used club is okay, you may find some from yard sale.
don't start with 7iron. short club forgives swing error more...so likely you
have to redo swing for longer clubs later on. |

it all depends on how good are your irons.
as ET said before, 7 iron 150, times 3, you can still reach short par5 by
GIR
to me, without driver, my ball wont go anywhere.
in terms of course management, i am on the other end spectrum. I plan to
leave my irons out of my game for now (keep 7,8,9), since most of my errant
shots are from irons. also, to get good score, most of time, it is decided

figur that long hitter is gauged by driver and woods distance. not irons.
iron are not for distance.
i believe majority of guys at this board hit PW about same distance as Tiger
,
hit 7iron about 10-30 yards shorter than tiger,
but when comes to woods and Driver, 60 yards or more shorter than tiger.
i realized that Pro hit irons with much less effort than amateurs, at least
me... so many pro iron shot |
