写过关于天才班的介绍 《美国的天才班 Gifted and Talented》
虽然天才班的中文翻译很高大上，其实这个名字存在很大的误导性。所谓的天才班，其
实相当于国内的重点班，仅此而已。一般来讲，华裔，印度裔，白人比较重视教育的族
群，才会努力争取进入Gifted Program，这个也是美国基础教育中少数比较公平的教育
实践：只要测试成绩达到top 99%,大概率会录取。
虽然本地的西雅图时报上有个专栏，长年累月地鼓吹Gifted Program要AA，但是西雅图
时报已经在倒闭边缘上了，以为也就说说而已。然而，进入2018年，华州的立法立法机
构确实在考虑立法，在天才班（Gifted Program/资优班）的选拔上就要考虑AA了，向
underrepresented 的人群倾斜。看来该来的还是来了。

I think the body of 3-series changed a lot around 92.
Mine is 87 model, 130K miles. But runs very well, with
very good acceleration, very stable at high speed. The
previous owner said it can easily run over 200km/h. I tried
to run it at 180km/h(110m/h), since it still got good
acceleration I suppose it can really run at 200 or over.

The reason is, you didn't press your gas pedal hard enough after
switch down gears. Then your engine pick up speed by slowing down
your car.
I beleive for most cars, it is more efficient to accelerate at
4th gear UNDER THIS SPEED (~65m/h). At even higher speed, 5th
gear might be more practical and efficient, say at 90m/h.
I suppose the idea is, to accelerate fast one need to drive at
appropriate engine speed range, for most cars, it should be in
the range from 2500~3000rpm to 4500~5500rpm. S |
