1，申请的时候是申请到学院级别吧？比如申请某校的工程学院，艺术和科学学院等等
。录取不录取是学校决定的还是学院决定的？能被MIT的英美文学系录取不代表能被他
们的工程院录取，我的理解对不对？
2，看入学要求，一般认为SAT和班级排名都很重要，那我的问题是，有两个高中都不错
，一个是A，top 1%, 另一个是B，top 10%,学生C在A校，SAT2200 （模拟，下同），班级top 20%,学生D在B校，SAT2150，班级top 5%,假设其他方面都一样，哪个更容易录取好大学？

所准备，几分钟就准备好了。6点20几的时候飞奔医院。到的时候，ld已经疼痛难忍了
。我把车停在OB门前，车没有熄火（好像车门也忘了关了），扶着ld往里走，走了不到
10步ld就走不了了。我赶紧告诉security需要帮助，security看到我们这个情况飞速找
来轮椅推着ld往OB的admission处赶。当时我们前面有两位孕妇在办理住院手续，看到
我们这种情况也是主动让开，让我们先行办理admission。admission的老奶奶也是相当
的nice，她立刻打电话叫护士把ld推进去了，让我继续办理入住手续。期间姐姐打电话
过来，从电话记录上发现当时的时间是早上6：35。我进去后有人正在给ld检查，当时
已经开了4指。期间有人给ld的ob打了电话，ob也是10分钟内就赶到了。ld要求用
epidural。7：10左右ld已经剧痛难忍，要求push。ob检查发现已经开了9指。这时候麻
醉师感到，迅速上了epidural，之后ld感觉疼痛稍稍减轻。2分钟后ob给破水，然后开
始push.大概push了3～ |

这书唯一的问题是年头儿有些久了，所以现在的一些情况有点跟不上。当年没孩儿，乱
逛书店的时候曾经翻过。刚刚查amazon，发现有很多有趣的评论。貌似白人中产也一样
郁闷着。
比如：While other reviewers have (jokingly?) said that they would advise
their white kids not to check the "Caucasian" box, I might advise my (still
very young) kids to say that their parents have been unemployed their whole
life.

华人完全没有发言权。这些方面暗箱操作的口子一打开，想制造出什么人种比例都

学费方面我不在加州，没有周内学费，所以这两所学费相近，sjsu可能稍稍便宜。
SJSU名气很大，而且在硅谷中心，但办事效率极低，申请期间的过程深有所感。
USF离硅谷还是有点远，学生数量少，比较好的地方是办事效率高，国际学生办公室的
人也都很专业负责，有问题多半他们当天或隔天就回复帮助解决， 因为他家admission
发的早，而且要求1个月内交700押金，到期的时候sjsu还一点消息都没有，所以就交了
押金，现在他们连i20表都寄来了。
而sjsu则是音信全无，知道今天我查了下admission状态才发现accepted。
求了解这两所学校的大神说说情况，给点意见，我没有包子，只能口头感谢了。 |

scrutiny every year. And it's not what happened in california where the
racial pref. is banned. All U.C. schools including private colleges have

我大学到目前为止就有一门课是B，其他基本都是A+。这个B在一般学校或许没什么，但
在我们学校是个炸弹，很少学生会拿B的，基本都是A。（插一句：有别的学校说是因为
我们学校给分水，其实是因为我们比其它学校更聪明更用功）。
给这个B的老师和我关系闹得非常僵，差一点闹到学校了，但我当时正准备忙一个假期
实习，机会非常珍贵，所以只有作罢没有继续和他斗下去了。
就我全部的成绩来说，这个B炸弹轰炸能力比较有限，但是不妙的是——我现在申请本
校的PhD，我知道the Admissions Committee里面有这个老师。Chair不是他，而是另外
一个和我比较熟的老师。
我想请各位前辈帮忙解答，这个老师会对我申请造成影响吗？筛选过程中，the Chair

后他同意要我。
我就开始申请了。给学校寄过材料后半年才给我这个admission.但是我已经打算去其它
的学校了，这样的话我还有必要跟学校说吗？如果说的话是跟admission office 还是
研究生院说呢？

校ISO的人跟我说我这种情况不好转身份, 有可能被句, 因为拿了admission还以F2身份入
境的话显得有circumvent visa的嫌疑. 大家有没有这种情况的, 能批得下来吗? COVER
LETTER上应该怎么加以解释?

Buffalo和University of Central Florida的录取信(admission letter),但都没说给
奖学金.现在UCF发邮件让寄送资金证明.UB也来信说没有TA,但没提有没有其它奖学金,
不过也让寄送资金证明.
这种情况下,是不是就不给奖学金了?
但是,听别人说申请PhD一般都给奖学金或者TA,RA.真的是这样吗?
还有,一般情况下admission letter和奖学金是一起给的吗?
现在该怎么办?
