借这个机会，老师给同学们讲一讲 Status 问题。一般来讲，同学们的 Status 不外乎
上面所列的几种(B1/2 属于 Visitor)。在categery 中，没有dependent 这一类，他们
被归于 Visitor。恕老师寡闻，不知道有 "dependent of exchange visitor" 一说。 |

如果使用了 AP 入境，你的 "Class of Admission" 或 "Manner of Last Entry" 通通
都是 I-94 上的 "Parolee" (or "AOS").
除非在境内转成了 H-1/4，你的 "Current USCIS Status" 也是 "Parolee" （跟 I-94
).
其有效期在 I-94 卡上。由于 AP 之 I-94 有效期只有一年，有的同学担心移民局误会
自己身份过期，就把 current status expired on 填成 "N/A". 自慰而已。 |

通常来说 如果你的条件不够 但学校又不想直接拒你 普遍的做法是把你的申请on hold
然后通知你哪些方面可以提高 比如考试分 比如去上一个某某课程 等等 然后他们会
重新evaluate你的申请
但是如果被放wait list 通常表示学校已经认可你的条件 但有比你更好的人排在前面
如果这些人最后因为各种原因没有来enroll 那么wait list上的人就可以来 这种情况
下 学校会重新evaluate你申请的机会比较低
this being said 积极和学校的人联系总是没有错的 不用怕人家嫌烦 多套近乎 混熟
了以后在和他们的闲聊中就能了解到很多admission过程的东西 |
