(1) only numbs the operation area and you do not lose consciousness. (2) may
prevent you from experiencing the whole process, but it's pretty safe and
widely used by dentists. (3) is for serious surgery and you won't need it.
Anyway, ask your doctor to explain the process and risks beforehand. |

easier to clean their penis without the foreskin. As for the pain, obviously
it will be painful. But our ob/gyn who did the circumcision told us that a
new born babies are usually less sensitive to pain. They only had general
pain killer without anesthesia. If you have to do it later, then you need to

no she didn't do whole body anesthesia
we went there 3 times to finish the job.
the doctor used the huge needle to do a local anesthesia each time.
she didn't have any crown (this might be th reason why it's so expensive,
but still... i myself had a couple of crowns, 400-700 each after insurance..
.)
but had 2 so called "mini root canal", i.e., pulpotomy
and 6 other easy fixes.

's 2 and 3. Had baby root canal done recently by the dentist at Midland Park.
Yes, I too have seen some dentists suggesting whole body anesthesia for my
daughter. I never returned because I would never consider whole anesthesia
to such young child. The two I used are very good. They will do what's best
for the child. |

发帖数: 48 | 19 儿子两岁差两个月, 前阵子去看牙医. 发现8个cavities. 牙医要求补. 说非得做全麻(
general anesthesia). 我和老公听了都心惊肉跳的. 吓死我了. 接下来的时间. 我除
了忏悔(什么都惯着他, 吃chocolate都随他), 做了大量的search. 医生说是very safe
. 我不是搞生物的, 但是估计和神经系统中离子通道阻断有关系. 对大脑里面各
receptors肯定有影响啦. 要不人怎么能睡过去了. 后来在看有孩子麻过去没醒来的报
道. 更是吓到我了.
于是, 昨天又带儿子看另一个牙医, 他说三个路子:
1. 笑气, N2O. 三岁半以上才能用.
2. 全麻.
3. 捆绑式, oral anesthesia, and strap down on the board. 但是很危险. 孩
子动得很厉害. (若干年前, 有个孩子被CHOKE死了, CROWN掉进喉咙里), kids could
be traumatized the rest of life.
我觉得都不行. 可不补也不行啊….纠结中…. |

might not applicable to your case.
Our daughter was having cavities from two years old, we have seen three
dentists for opinions, all suggested surgery with general anesthesia. We
didn't do that because she didn't feel pain from the cavity, our thoughts
was to try to stop the cavity and delay the surgery as long as possible. We

1. 看牙保险给报销么?
参见具体policy。健康保险如无明文提到exception，一般可以认为不报。看病之
前，自学一下保险手册的关键条款（有生命危险或疼得天昏地暗者除外）。
2. 看牙咋省钱？
有保险的考虑适当拖延。到下一年可以用新报销额度。
自费买dental insurance：一般premium几百/年，一年最多报销两千，外加
waiting period，所以不一定合算。临时报佛脚的情况就不要考虑了。
dental discount plan：在参加计划的诊所可以立刻打折。比如Aetna Advantage
Dental。
收入确实低的，在本地找免费或low cost诊所。这些地方可能有eligibility要求
，很多只提供有限服务。
去附近的dental school clinic，给学生做小白鼠。

a frequently seen phenomenon in epidural anesthesia. It should have been
communicated better with the patient before the procedure. the reason could

You need at least 1-2 year adult ICU experience. Pediatric ICU doesn't make
the cut. Some anesthesia schools require certain courses taken before
application. You need to contact the programs that you are interested in

几个不知所谓的无聊的人天天吹嘘什么麻醉护士。
麻醉护士不需要医生SUPERVISE的州，加州就算一个。工作中碰到的CRNA，中国人也是
说还是医生赚得更多，如果遇到复杂的病人需要医生帮忙善后。人家可是干了二十多年
的老CRNA了。结果几个才工作几年的CRNA就一副我二十万美金一年，牛的不要不要了的
样子，井底之蛙。
工作中碰到的PA，老PA，人家自己开诊所，年入上百万美金。
NP也可以年入五十万美金，做一个CRNA真的没有啥好吹嘘的，尤其是ultrasound
guided peripherial IV insertion，根本就不算什么新鲜事，也就是几个千老不懂，
外行在哪儿一惊一乍的，以为多了不起，很多年前在interventional radiology上班，
早就会了，并不是什么难事，二十分钟就会了，很多RN都会，这个东西真心不是什么高
难度动作。如果上个CRNA学校就学这么一点东西，真心就学费白交了，当然要是做a-
line，大静脉的central line那个因为执照的限制，只有advanced 执照的人才能做，

一个手术室最重要的就是外科医生，好比一个诊所最重要的就是医生。没有外科医生，
其他手术室的工作人员都英雄无用武之地，诊所也一样。所以其他的辅助工作人员很容
易被替换。一个诊所可以解雇所有的员工就是不能解雇医生。同样，手术室里外科医生
就是中心，其他的都是围绕着他/她转。
不管中国还是美国，麻醉都是辅助，经常就是外科医生骂麻醉医生像骂孙子一样。
而FNP是百搭。哪里都需要。精神病院也要。监狱也要。养老院也要。邮轮也要。有
refer 病人的权力。
这个人神公愤的abscess， 就给这个医生吧。听说他手最近有点抖。只能做这种手术。
我refer 的时候， 想一想。这个女病人，还是找一个帅哥外科医生可以增加幸福感。
好， 这$1000 就某某的了。
听话的外科医生我们让他发财，听话的心脏内科医生让他发财。
有一次一个女外科医生不肯来医院看病人。我就直接打电话给她。跟她说： I need
you badly. 她乖乖的来医院做手术。
有一个外科医生脑子不正常。就再不用了。
哪个外科医生不懂事。以后就不refer.
懂事的有生意。
