rheumatoid arthritis对应成风湿性关节炎?
不相信几百年前的中医理论里有这个词.没准就是近几十年来,西医的这个rheumatoid
arthritis定义了以后,翻译的时候想当然和老祖宗的风邪,湿邪有关,就硬match上了. |

rheumatoid factor is positive in many patients such as mixed cryo, lupus,
scleroderma, and even healthy patients, so by itself it doesn't help in
diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis,
you need to ask her morning stiffness how long does it last, morning
stiffness occurs in almost all inflmmatory arthropathy but if it lasts more
than one hour, then the likelyhood of rheumatoid arthritis is quite high,
you do not need to be hospitalized at all, there are different medications

because I found that in China many doctors and media use the term 类风湿性关
节炎 very liberally, including pretty much all types of joint pain.
Rheumatoid arthritis is serious, but lots of treatment are available. Most
of them available in China as well, at least in big city academic hospitals.
She should see a rheumatologist.

go without treatment for ten years. Rheumatoid arthritis causes
irreversible damage to the joints, the outcome far more severe than the
potential adverse effect from treatment, including well monitored
steroid. This is a disease with lots of treatment options, steroid is
only one of the many options. There is not a single qualified evidence
suggesting Chinese medicine can help. If that is the only thing you mom

clinical diagnosis without any positive labs. I doubt your doctor is
convinced you have rheumatoid arthritis because she didn't start you on
specific medicine for RA.
Did your doctor tell you what was found in the fluid from the knee, crystal
etc? It usually can give a clue.
What finger joints are affected exactly, the most distal ones or the
proximal ones?

关节腔，或者做手术，如果是rheumatoid arthritis会更难治一点，progression也会
更差。

老婆最近被诊断为thyroid cancer, 需要手术+碘131放疗+endocrinologist

我过去的几年里一直使用学校的student insurance, 老婆来美国以后学校要求她也加

我住在山下，每天都要花一个半小时去爬一趟山当作锻炼身体，美国人之所
谓hiking。按iphone6自带软件的测算，每走一趟，共15000步，10公里，相当于
爬70层楼高。有一些人担心，每天都这么走，膝盖受得了吗？更有人言之凿凿，
某某年轻时喜欢爬山，年老膝盖就得了关节炎。关节炎极为常见，根据美国疾控
中心的报道，18岁以上的美国人有22.7%患有关节炎，年龄越大，患病比例越高，
65岁以上的美国人有一半患有关节炎。[文献1]身体最容易出现关节炎的部位是
膝盖。几乎一半的美国人早晚都会得膝骨关节炎，肥胖者会得膝骨关节炎的比例

发帖数: 658 | 29 刚刚去uptodate查了一下，输入“pepper"或 "chili", 出来的只有Cayenne。原来它就
是造Capsaicin的原料。好处还不少，有抗炎止痛， 促进心血管循环，促进消化。我也
是到了美国才发现，从国内来的几乎没有不吃辣的（除了我），以前我室友， 湖南来
的， 吃饭就是西兰花加上老干妈。好处很多，当然如果有消化道溃疡的要当心，而且
也会可能对其他药物有干扰，比如抗高血压药，因为会产生catecholamine儿茶酚胺.有
兴趣的可以看看。

and rheumatic heart disease seen in "rheumatic fever" since you mentioned
streptococcus. Both of them can be complicated by GAS pharyngitis,
presumably via cross-reactions of antibodies between M-protein moieties and
human tissues (the so-called molecular mimicry).
Also please be noted that the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases involves a
triad of "triggering factors, susceptible hosts, and immune responses".

(1) 我应该没有颈椎病，但非常偶尔会有像妈妈一样的眩晕状况。我猜应该也是你说
BPPV, 大概是遗传的。
(2) 妈妈昨天头晕之前，确实做了一个一下子站起来的动作。
(3) 颈椎arthritis进而影响内耳，也是很有可能的。

first line treatment- physical therapy, NSAIDs if patient has inflammatory
back pain or other joint pain
if not respond to NSAIDs (have tried three different NSAIDs, still have pain
), try TNF alpha inhibitor, like infliximab, adalimumab, or eternacept. No
study so far demonstrated any difference of these three meds.
