definitely gives the victim more survival time. Avalung plays a similar role
if you know how to use it properly. If you are going to ski on a slope that
avalanche is likely to happen, bite the mouth piece and breathe through it
all the way until are reach the safe zone.
One thing I would like to mention is that taking avy class, having an avy
beacon, or an avalung doesn't mean you are "safer" than other backcountry

remains of avalanche just the left side of shirley lake lift (closer to
Granite side), kind of surprised me since the slope did not look that steep

发帖数: 1235 | 7 I do agree it is more difficult to trigger wet slab (sticky snow) avalanche
, it is also more deadly than dry slab. Also, snowpack is only one factor
in avalanche world, terrain, weather and the traveler would be other major
factors.
So, personally I do not agree for backcountry traveler it is safer in sierra
than in rocky because it is marine climate and snow is sticky. it is
somehow missleading.

second is rock/ice fall. I saw avalanche many times, and I was hit by a
falling rock that cracked my shoulder blade. I have full respect of
mountains, even those I call small hills. They are only small by Himalayan
standard, but they can certainly kill.
For my kids, two activities I strongly discourage them from doing: back
country skiing and water ice climbing (except for top rope only). Just too
dangerous.

发帖数: 2625 | 18 D5（6/21): 今天行程比较松，所以多睡会，八点起来，从I90到Missoula，上US93去
Columbia Falls 住，两点多住下后，三点半从公园东门进去，从管理员那里知道贯穿公
园东西的Going to the Sun Road中间从Avalanch 到Lagon Pass这段因为塌方关闭了。这
样先前想第二天从此路穿越公园然后从另一端走I15回盐湖城的计划就要改了，明天就要
走US2绕过公园南端从西门进去再从原路出来。
因为只有一天半时间，所以超过两里长的小路都就都没时间走了，当天走了雪崩湖（
Avalanch Lake）的小路，这条路来回四里长，两个多小时走完，又被蚊子咬了若干口，
尽头的湖真不觉得好看，其实四分之一里处的雪崩溪比较漂亮，走到那里就不用再往前走
了。
D6(6/22): 6天起来走US2到公园东门，这里的Sun Point是早晨拍St Mary湖野鹅岛的好点
，我曾经看过一张拍野鹅岛日出的照片，可惜已经玩得太累，没法三点多起来跑到Sun
Point等太阳了。今天走了一下St. Mary Falls的小路，Hidden Lake小路仍旧被数尺深积

在这里吆喝了两个月，想找人一起去Glacier，本来只想去冰川，临走前的两个礼拜决
定去banff，最后的一周才定下banff的行程。
9月15号晚6点多到了Glacier internationa airport。我去过的最小的机场。取车，当
晚住Kalispell。
9月16号早6点从kalispell开车到冰川。这天是Go to the sun road close的最后一天
。我们从west glacier进，早晨的lake McDonald真的很美
不到9点，我们开始走第一个trail。Avalanche Lake trail，我们是当天第一个走这个
trail的，一路上不停的大喊大叫，很害怕熊。@@ 早晨的Avalanche Lake因为逆光不是
特别impressive。来回花了2个小时。
下一站logan pass。11点多到logan pass，吃饭，走hiden lake trail。2个mile还是
很远的。

发帖数: 757 | 20 第一天的安排不错，我很喜欢Avalanche Creek。
我觉得你的计划里面给中间一线（going to the sun一线）安排的时间多了。
hidden lake和Avalanche Creek是精华。
hidden lake 的trail里面野生动物很多，路程也短。
highlind在我去年的计划里面没有被安排进来，忘了原因了，大概是性价比不高。
而many glacier才是冰川的精华，你安排的时间又有些少了。
iceberg trail是很不错的。
另外一个不错的trail是grinell glacier，需要先坐船，
先后经过三个湖，最后可以近距离接触冰川，强烈建议你应该把此日程考虑在内。记得
提前
去买船票， 位置比较紧俏。
所以，我建议你取消highlan的trail，加入一个grinell galcier的trail。
另外，南线的two medicine也是不错的。
如果我是你，
第一天日程不变。
第二天赶早走hidden lake， 然后开到many galcier 走iceberg
第三天走grinell
第四天two medicine 然后赶到黄石。

发帖数: 298 | 21 第六天我们首先去了Avalanche Lake trail, 大片的红杉林在清晨非常好看，小溪和瀑
布也不错，终点的湖泊初看不错，不过比起Grinell Lake 要略微逊色一些。翻过logan
pass后来到St.Mary营地，St.Mary湖非常美丽，风光远胜之前所有看到的湖泊。下午
去Many Glacier走Grinell Lake Trail，事实上Grinell Glacier的风景会更好，但是
那条Trail太长，而且我们也没有时间了。有条件的朋友一定要走。走完Trail去Swift
Current Motor Inn洗澡喝水，洗澡时投币的，大约时间8分钟，收费较低。晚上回到营
地又看了一次星空，还是感动得要流泪。

统故障在版面上丢失了，这个是后来在旅游版精华区找到的唯一备份。文中所指时间均
为2006年。（对了，下面所附照片中混杂了两张胶片，有闲工夫的同学可以玩玩这个找
胶片的老游戏）
旅游版里有关这三处的资料已经很多了，加上时间有限，就简单记录一下行程以及有关
摄影方面的提示。
D1(6/17): New York （LGA)--Denver--Salt Lake City (4pm Mt. Time)，租车去住
Idaho Falls。
D2(6/18): 4:30am 起床，由US26--Hwy31--Hwy22到Grand Teton.
此处比较失算，一是虽然已经从weather.com查得当地日出时间是五点半，提前一
小时起床，但没有考虑到一个人行动和两个人行动所需要的时间是不同的，所以真正出
发石已经五点；二是虽然从地图上看走上述路线的绝对历程短，但这条路线全是山路，
很可能全程走US26到Jackson更快。当然如果不赶路的话，Hwy31和22风光还不错。到

看比当初PGM的起点高，因为有PGM的经验教训。avalanche项目从目前看进展顺利，非
优化的内部数据至少比我当初估计的要好，希望上市的时间能对预想的快些。
ILMN目前当然还是占有绝对的统治地位，不过这种地位已经渐渐走下坡路了。从运行成
本上以及操作简单性上它还是相当不错的，等Proton的PII chip及avalanche出来后，
局面很可能就大不一样了。 |

医学图像处理就业市场，据我来看，是供大于求。学校里做医学图像处理的学生一大把
。另外，学校教的和工业界用的有一定差距。
最要命的是，很多医学仪器出来的图像的原始数据拿不到，所以没有单独的医学图像处
理小公司发展。
做这些图像处理的，要么是这个医学仪器公司，要么是学校医学院研究单位（有协议所
以能拿到医学仪器出来的图像的原始数据）
如果医学仪器公司把他们的图像的原始数据开放，我相信会有很多医学图像处理start-
up公司涌现。目前这个状况，医学图像处理就业市场不好。
另外，发现硕士和博士所学，经常和就业市场相差得很远。误人子弟，毁人不倦呀。

EXT（以前觉得很奇怪为什么Escalader SUV的长轴距版叫ESV，原来EXT被它用了）。。。
以前还有个Explorer Sport trac。基于上代Explorer。随着Explorer换代停产。
还有一个更加奇葩的就是Subaru Baja。
所以在这个市场上做过尝试的并非只有Honda Ridgeline。而是有不少型号，高中低端
都有。
这个市场并没有被忽视，而是确实没啥前景。只不过在这个没前景的市场里，Honda
Ridgeline是做的最好的。
Tacoma和Ridgeline不是同一类型。它应该是比1500／F150系列低一个级别的轻卡。和
Colorado/Canyon，Dakota，Frontier算是同一类型。 |
