discrimination on lower caste people, which is in essence the unfairness in
the caste system. If there is no discrimination, why should caste systems be
banned? It is similar to "banish the racial system", would an asian no
longer be asian? that is just weird. What you can do is "banish the
discrimination" |

美国长老会的同性恋牧师保罗·莫里(Paul Mowry)
淡蓝网3月19日讯：经过长达十年的辩论，美国基督教长老会决定修改教会宪章，正式
承认同性婚姻。
该教会最高立法机构在去年6月已经通过相关议案，但仍需171个教区的领导机构批准。
17日公布的投票结果显示，多数教区赞成将宪章中的婚姻定义从“一男一女之间”修改
为“两人之间，传统为一男一女”。
这一改变将于今年6月21日正式生效，之后美国长老会的神职人员可以在自愿的前提下
，为同性婚姻合法地区的同性伴侣主持婚礼。另外，曾因主持同性婚礼被教会处分的神
职人员，其处罚记录将被撤销。
支持婚姻平等的牧师布莱恩·艾利森(Brian Ellison)对上述决定表示欢迎，同时呼吁
教会成员求同存异、保持团结。
美国长老会拥有180多万信众，是北美地区最大的长老教会。

哈佛大学教授傅高义（Ezra F. Vogel）倾十年心力完成的巨著《邓小平时代》（Deng
Xiaoping and the Transformation of China）于2013年1月由生活·读书·新知三联
书店出版，在中国大陆首度公开发行了简体中文版。
《邓小平时代》一书英文原著于2011年在哈佛大学出版社出版，2012年香港中文大学出
版社出版了未经删节的中文版，译者为冯克利。港版全书约58万字，其中注释6.1万字
。三联书店的大陆版仍采用了冯克利的译本，但对内容进行了删节。
大陆版正文较港版删节约5.3万字，其中包括“邓小平时代的关键人物”（Key People
in the Deng Era）一文约2.6万字。附录部分，大陆版的注释从港版的105页缩减为78
页，索引由港版的39页缩减为11页。
在给《纽约时报》的邮件回复中，傅高义坦承了他对《邓小平时代》大陆版的看法。他
表示，三联书店能够获准出版《邓小平时代》中文版并保留了他想表达的核心内容（占
